Foamed polystyrene EPS has the advantages of relatively small density, heat insulation, sound insulation, moisture resistance, low water absorption and so on, so it is widely used in the field of construction, common as building decoration, building thermal insulation use, daily necessities manufacturing and so on.
When foaming polystyrene foam board is used for building insulation and exported to the EU countries for sale and use, CE certification is generally required by coordination standards; but if used as load-bearing layer and waterproof layer, certification will be required in accordance with the requirements of ETA certification.

Expected use of the EPS products
The boards with smooth or moulded surfaces are intended to be used as exterior thermal insulation (walls/floors) and as load bearing thermal insulation (one or two layers of EPS thermal insulation boards) underneath floor slabs including specific edge modules. The boards are laid uniformly on the substrate to which they are applied. The load bearing function is limited to predominantly static loads.
In particular the following applications are covered:
a) Load bearing and thermal insulation underneath foundation slabs (inside and outside the waterproofing)
b) External horizontal and vertical thermal insulation (partly with a drainage function) of in-ground constructions exposed to in-ground frost but not constantly exposed to groundwater or to long-term backwater (non-structural application)
c) Inverted roof insulation

EPS Foam Board ETA Certification Process:
1, European Assessment Technical Document (EAD)
2, Submit the assessment application to the European Technical Assessment Agency (TAB Agency), along with the necessary technical documents
3, To determine the necessity of the product declaration, the final test and evaluation protocol will be developed in combination with the evaluation document and the performance that must be declared.
4, The TAB organization will issue the European technology assessment through the test and assessment, and EOTA will publish the European technology assessment within the EU for a period of time. During this period, if the technical assessment agencies of the member states have no objection, the European technology assessment can take effect.
5, Apply for certification according to the requirements in the European Assessment, and issue the ETA certificate
6, Add the CE mark with the announcement code on the outer package, and issue the DoP explanatory document.
