AS/NZS 4859.1 Glass cotton, rock wool and other guaranteed materials, Australian standard certification
|
Glass wool rock wool and other insulation materials exported to Australia should meet the standard requirements of AS/NZS 4859.1, products can be issued StandardMark certification after the test qualified and strict factory evaluation. AS/NZS 4859.1: What are the changes to the new standard in 2018? Updated the calculation and declaration of thermal conductivity values (R values). For more information about the Australian standard AS4589.1 certification, please consult the Nanjing Smart, tel: +86 25-86583475.
◆ Australian standard AS/NZS 4859.1:2018
AS/NZS 4859.1:2018 Materials for the thermal insulation of buildings - General criteria and technical provisions
Specific requirements for an individual material or insulation type:
(a) Rigid cellular polyurethane (RC/PUR) - AS 1366.1;
(b) Rigid cellular polyisocyanurate (RC/PIR) - AS 1366.2;
(c) Rigid cellular polystyrene Moulded (RC/PS-M) - AS 1366.3;
(d) Rigid cellular polystyrene Extruded (RC/PS-E) - AS 1366.4; and
(e) Urea-formaldehyde foam thermal insulationIn situ set foam - AS 4073.
The scope of this Standard does not cover requirements for fire performance
◆ AS/NZS 4859.1: What are the changes to the new 2018 standard?
Updated the calculation and declaration of thermal conductivity values (R values). The large variation in the revised standard AS/NZS 4859.1:2018 is related to a formal statement of thermal testing and performance labeling: Thermal testing: A statistical evaluation of at least 10 test results is required for each material evaluated under this standard. This statistical evaluation shall determine the R value and thermal conductivity of the test product from the statistically adjusted mean value representing the 50% quantile with 90% confidence in the unilateral tolerance interval. Represents as R50 / 90 or λ 50 / 90. The same statistical assessment applies to all insulation materials, except for vacuum insulation plates.
◆ How is it Changing AS/NZS 4859.1:2018?
√ A statistical assessment of at least 10 test results is required for each material assessed under the standard.
√ This statistical assessment shall determine the R-value and thermal conductivity for the products tested from the statistically adjusted mean values representing a 50% fractile with 90% confidence for a one-sided tolerance interval.To be expressed as R50/90 or λ50/90.
√ The same statistical assessment is applicable for all insulation materials, except for vacuum insulation panels.
