DIN 53438将小元件为F1-F3(F1、F2、F3)，K1-K3（K1、K2、K3）等级。

DIN 53438-1至DIN 53438-3用于DIN 5510-2中小元件的燃烧等级S1级测试.

S1等级要求: 从喷灯火焰击中点开始测量，小元件上形成的焰峰不超过15cm.
