This test method, using an open calorimeter environment is used to determine heat release, smoke density, weight loss, and generation of carbon monoxide of upholstered furniture or full-scale mock-up furniture.

NFPA 266 provides a test method using a full-scale furniture calorimeter to test upholstered furniture when exposed to a flaming ignition source to determine heat release, smoke density, weight loss and generation of carbon monoxide. (15 pp., 1998)
