This standard covers the design, installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of low-, medium-, and high-expansion foam systems for fire protection. It is not the intent of this standard to specify where foam protection is required.
 
Work with the latest rules in the 2010 NFPA 11 to make sure expansion foam systems will respond on cue if fire strikes.
Reorganized for clarity, the 2010 NFPA 11 Standard for Low-, Medium, and High-Expansion Foam covers all aspects of the design, installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of low-, medium-, and high-expansion foam systems for fire protection. Criteria apply to fixed, semi-fixed, or portable systems for interior and exterior hazards. (Softbound, 88 pp., 2010)
