NFPA5000安全规范，将一些防冰雹袭击的条款纳入章节内容中，如UL2218预制型屋顶覆盖材料抗冲击性能、FM 4470 1级屋顶覆盖材料标准、FM4473用冷冻冰球撞击硬质屋顶材料的屋顶覆盖材料抗冲性能规程。为了确保灵活性，NFPA5000允许用户任意选择通过上述三种方法检测的屋顶材料。
