随着国际能源危机的不断攀升以及低碳经济的日益凸显，作为一种新兴的清洁能源，海洋风电技术日益成熟，风电产业也日益稳定，风能已成为可再生能源的重要选择。我国海岸线辽阔，海上资源储备丰富，水深5-50米海域，100米高度的海上风能资源开放量为5亿千瓦。然而，与陆地风电相比，海上风电所处的高湿度、高盐雾、长日照、海水、海泥、漂浮物、浮冰等恶劣的海洋环境，必然使海上风机面临严峻的腐蚀考验，腐蚀与防护问题已成为海上风电遇到的技术难题之一，如何进行防腐蚀设计是重中之重。
海上风电设计寿命一般在25年以上，其防腐蚀设计寿命也应超过25年，同时腐蚀控制系统也必须能够承受各种环境的考验，比如海泥、海水、浪花飞溅、海洋大气以及持续的机械损伤、磨损等，结合海洋腐蚀环境分区及海上风电结构所处的位置，以单桩基础的风机为例，海上风电结构可分为四个环境分区。
