NF F 16-101/NF P 92-501: M classification combustion test
1. Standard –NF F 16-101/NF P 92-501
NF P 92-501: Building materials- Reaction to fire tests, radiation test used for rigid material or flexible materials thickness more than 5mm.
2. Test method—NF F 16-101/NF P 92-501
Specimens of the product are mounted in an enclosed chamber at an angle of 45° to the horizontal and exposed to thermal radiation (30kW/m²) on their lowest surface, the test duration 20 minutes.
The materials is classified M1 to M4 according to the q index
M1 - Non flammable q < 2.5
M2 - Low flammability q < 15
M3 - Moderately flammable q < 50
M4–flammable q≥50
If specific, unusual, specimen behaviour is observed additional supplementary tests (NF P 92-504 or NF P 92-505) may be required.
3. M Classification : M0-M4 (M0、M1、M1、M2、M3、M4)
All rigid materials and flexible materials thickness more than 5mm.
